The general tourism-based objective of the project was to provide a Tourism Sector Development Plan that would guide the implementation of key actions and investments.  The plan contributed to improving the region’s tourism competitiveness, strengthening technical and political capacities for the management of sustainable urban growth in Retalhuleu, and developing territorial management strategies in Guatemágica tourist routes.
